This Sporting News 1967 All-America team plaque was presented to UCLA standout Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, then known as Lew Alcindor. Abdul-Jabbar is widely regarded as one of the greatest college basketball athletes of all-time, winning NCAA titles in each of his three years in Westwood and the inaugural Naismith College Player of the Year Award in 1969. This plaque measures 18 x 14 inches. Shown on the plaque are portraits of Elvin Hayes, Sonny Dove, Jim Walker, and Earl Monroe, with a full body illustration of Abdul-Jabbar, the Sporting News Player of the Year, in the center. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
