JULY 19TH AUCTION
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 7/20/2013
By 1998, Bernie Williams had established himself as the Yankees star
center fielder. As the team set a new AL record with a staggering 114
wins, Bernie set a record of his own when he became the first player to
win the league batting crown, Gold Glove Award and World Series
Championship all in one season. Williams’ cupped-end Rawlings DW20 bat
is uncracked but shows outstanding use. The bat exhibits grain checking
from repeated ball contact and ball and stitch marks can be seen on the
black finish. Blue ink marks and white leather scuffs are a further
silent testimony to this bat’s heavy use. The barrel end is cupped and
the knob end displays the bat’s model “DW20”, order number order number
and year “98”. Letter of Authenticity from Yankees-Steiner Collectibles
and PSA/DNA.
