Philadelphia 76ers star point guard Ben Simmons wore these red Statement Edition shorts during the 2017-18 NBA season, his rookie year. The number one overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft, Simmons was forced to sit out the 2016-17 season due to a foot injury, but he hit the ground running once he saw the court in 2017-18. Simmons averaged 15.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game as he led the Sixers to a 24-win improvement on their previous season’s record. Simmons and Joel Embiid led the Sixers to a 52-30 record, advancing to the Eastern Conference Semifinals before bowing out of the playoffs to the Boston Celtics. Simmons was honored with the NBA Rookie of the Year award and a deserving place on the 2017-18 All-Rookie First Team.
