Leroy Nieman is one of the greatest sports artists of all time, with his unique style captivating fans of almost every sport from the majors such as baseball, football and basketball to non mainstream sports. This print was produced form an original 1994 Nieman painting commemorating the Kentucky Derby, one of the greatest sporting events held each year. This approximately 22” x 34” print is signed by six Kentucky Derby winning jockeys, with the horse name and year they won. The signers include the last three Triple Crown winners who have their names in bold. Includes: Ron Turcotte 1973 on Secretariat, Angel Cordero, Jr. 1976 on Bold Forbes, Jean Cruget 1977 on Seattle Slew, Steve Cauthen 1978 on Affirmed, Ronnie Franklin 1979 on Spectacular Bid and Laffit Pincay, Jr. 1984 on Swale.
