Graded PR-FR 1 by PSA. Here is an exceptionally clean example of a famous and universally coveted collectible. This brightly colored T206 bears the misprinted caption that never fails to cause excitement. In bold block letters, the player's surname that should read "Magee" appears as "Magie." The offered copy displays a nice aesthetic, with a beautifully clear and deep, olive green background and presents nicer than its assigned technical grade. Its cardfront presentation carries heavy corner wear resulting from handling and also concedes a series of creases and wrinkling. The reverse sports a "Piedmont - 150 Subjects" back advertisement which is clean except for a "3" written over the 1 in "150 Subjects." Both front and reverse aspects deliver remarkable quality in terms of eye appeal and, most importantly, the entire caption, including the "error," is crisply resolved and unmistakable. This rarity would be a suitable and desirable entry in any 1909-11 T206 White Border set. The always-elusive piece is one of the industry's "Top 10" items with respect to value, and its acquisition confers automatic admission to an elite category of hobbyists.
