One of the most controversial players in the history of baseball, "The Georgia Peach" still holds many records to this day including lifetime batting average (.367), and batting titles (12), including a ridiculous nine in a row from 1907-1915. One thing Cobb didn't do well though was make friends. His "spikes up" hard nosed mentality made him the most hated player in the sport. He fought other players. He fought fans. He fought umpires. But when it came to playing the game, nobody did it better. This First National Bank of Nevada was made out by Cobb's hand on June 15,1944 and signed Tyrus R. Cobb on the bottom in black ink. Cobb made this check out to the Pacific Telephone Company for a whopping $31.88. Check has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA and the signature has been graded a Mint 9.
