No player since Mickey Mantle burst into the Major League as explosively as Mike Trout did in 2012. That year it took a Miguel Cabrera winning the Triple Crown to keep the AL MVP Award away from the Angels young superstar, but Trout did grab the Rookie of the Year laurel in its place. Cabrera narrowly edged out Trout again in 2013, but those first two seasons were only a teaser for what Mike Trout would accomplish in subsequent summers.

In 2014 Trout finally took home the MVP Award, his career-high 36 home runs and back-to-back days like he had on July 10 and 11 that gave him the winning edge in the MVP voting. In the July 10th game in Arlington, Trout faced Colby Lewis in the third inning with two on and laced a ball the straight away center field to make it 13-0 Angels. It was his 21st homer of the year and the Halos went on to clobber the Rangers that night, beating them 15-6 with Trout going 4-for-5. The next evening, Trout hit another homer, his 22nd, this time a 4th inning solo shot at the expense of Nick Tepesch. The Angels star would go on to hit 14 more homers along with a league-leading RBI, runs and total bases as he easily won the first of his two (as of September 2018) AL MVP Awards.

This Old Hickory MT27* Model bat was used by Trout to hit both home run number 21 and 22. The bat shows good game use with many ball marks and ball scuffs present on its barrel. There are cleat marks visible and abrasions from storage with other equipment. The lower handle and knob have been taped to enhance the grip in Trout’s trademark early career fashion and a medium coat of pine tar is found on the lower and upper handle. The best part of this MVP season gamer is that Trout has signed the barrel and inscribed the bat to mark its significance: “HR #21 HR #22 vs Tex  14 G/U  MVP.” A complete signed gamer with dual home run attribution from Mike Trout’s first MVP season – one would be hard-pressed to find a more desirable bat from the game’s greatest and most exciting young stars. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10. There is an additional LOA from Mike Trout/Anderson Authentics for both the game use and signature.
