Jackie Robinson left behind a lifetime of history. In October of 1945, the Brooklyn Dodgers announced that they had signed him to a contract. He played for the Montreal Royals in 1946, and by 1947 he broke big league baseball's longstanding color barrier with Brooklyn. Robinson quickly became a national hero, winning Rookie of the Year in 1947 and National League MVP in 1949. In 10 years with Dem Bums, he was named to six All-Star teams and led Brooklyn to six NL pennants and the 1955 World Series title. Offered here is an outstanding Official National League Warren C. Giles baseball signed by Jackie Robinson in black ink on the side panel. Single signed baseballs by Robinson are among the most desirable in the collector's market. The ball is in very good condition with some minor scuffing. The autograph exhibits some fading but is fully legible and is accompanied by a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AE02445).
