Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants star Barry Bonds wore this black Pirates batting helmet circa 1989-90. Bonds won the first of his seven National League MVP awards in 1990, putting up new career highs in nearly every statistical category. The future home run king slugged 33 round trippers, with 114 RBI, a .301 batting average, and more walks than strikeouts. Far from being a one-dimensional power hitter, Bonds flashed his speed on the base paths by stealing 52 bases, a career best, while leading the Pirates to a 95-win season and the National League East Division title.
This offered American Baseball Cap helmet is black, with a yellow Pirates “P” logo applied to the front of the helmet. Bonds’ number “24” and an ABC logo are applied to the back of the helmet. The underside of the brim is gray. Please note that the padding on the occipital area of the helmet is missing, as well as the padding on the ear flap, which is located over Bonds’ right ear. This size “7” helmet displays heavy use and has a small crack over the ear flap. This helmet comes with a LOA from JT Sports for the game use.
