This base was used during the New York Mets game against the Washington Nationals at Citi Field on April 24th, 2009. Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran recorded the 1,000th RBI of his career in this game, a 4-3 Mets victory. Beltran’s historic RBI came on a third inning triple off Nationals starter Scott Olsen to score Mets second baseman Luis Castillo. This base was used as third base during the first three innings of this game. The Citi Field Inaugural Season logo is applied to the top of the base. Beltran has signed the top of the base in blue marker, inscribing “1,000 RBI” below his signature.
