After posting good numbers when being called up mid-season in 2011, Trout's true rookie campaign was one for the ages. Trout batted .326 and led the American league in stolen bases, on base percentage and runs scored. He was July’s AL MVP and AL Rookie of the Month and appeared in the All-Star Game where he went 1 for 1 and stole a base. By the time the season had ended, Trout was rewarded with a Silver Slugger Award and was voted AL Rookie of the Year. Only Miguel Cabrera’s Triple Crown season kept him from receiving the MVP Award as well. The Old Hickory model J143P bat is unused and has been signed by Trout on the barrel in silver ink.
