Led by Joe DiMaggio and Lou Gehrig, the 1937 New York Yankees were an unstoppable force on their way to yet another World Series title. DiMaggio was the undeniable star of this team, putting up a mystifying Triple Crown slash line of .346/46/167 with 35 doubles and 15 triples. Gehrig, despite his advancing age, put forth a .351/37/158 to complement Bill Dickey’s 29 homers, 133 RBI, and .332 batting average. The Yankees easily won 102 games in the regular season before defeating the New York Giants in a five-game World Series.
