This lot contains four home run balls hit by Keith Hernandez during the 1984 MLB season. Each of these baseballs is an Official National League Charles S. Feeney baseball. The first is from Hernandez’s home run on April 29th, 1984. He has signed the sweet spot in blue pen. Inscribed on the panel south of the sweet spot is “1st Homerun 1984 vs Bill Campbell April 29, 1984 Shea Stadium Mets 6 Phils 2”. The second baseball was hit for Hernandez’s second longball of the year, on May 1st, 1984. Hernandez has signed the sweet spot in blue pen. Inscribed on the panel south of the sweet spot is “2nd Homerun of 1984 vs. Dick Ruthven May 1, 1984 Mets 8 Cubs 1”.
The next baseball in this lot was hit for a homer on June 11th, 1984. Inscribed from the west panel across the sweet spot to the east panel is “June 11, 1984 Home Run at shea Stadium for 2 Runs off Rick Rhoden Pittsburgh”. This was Hernandez’s third homer of the season and the 93rd of his career. Hernandez has signed the east panel in blue pen. The final baseball in this lot was used on September 13th. Hernandez has signed the sweet spot in blue pen. Inscribed on the south panel is “15th HR 1984 vs. Larry McWilliams Sept. 14 Shea Stadium New York”.
