In the days before TV, the only way most baseball fans were able to see a World Series was through highlight films such as this. The 8mm reel captures the historic meeting between the Joe DiMaggio Yankees and the Jackie Robinson Dodgers. Memorable for Bill Bevin’s taking a no-hitter into the 8th inning of Game 4, Al Gionfriddo’s surreal catch of DiMaggio’s fly ball in Game 6 and of course the first appearance of an African-American in the Fall Classic.
