Presented here is a Type I photograph of Babe Ruth with the film director Sam Wood shooting the seminal film “The Pride of the Yankees” about Babe Ruth’s beloved former teammate Lou Gehrig. This photograph shows Ruth in a full New York Yankees home uniform conferring with Wood behind an old film camera. Ruth played himself in the film, with Gary Cooper playing Lou Gehrig. Yankees players Mark Koenig, Bob Meusel, and Bill Dickey also appeared in the classic film as themselves. This Type I photograph measures 7 x 9 inches and comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1P10471).
