Brazilian soccer legend Pele wore this NASL All-Stars jersey during the 1984 NASL All-Star Game. Pele, who retired from professional soccer in 1977, served as the player/coach for the NASL squad. This game took place on July 4th, 1984 as a part of the Coca-Cola Classic International Soccer Series. Pele is the all-time leading scorer for the Brazilian Men’s National Team with 77 goals in 92 caps.

This white jersey is manufactured by Umbro, and features “NASL ALL STARS” printed on the chest. A blue and red stripe accents the chest of this jersey. The collar and sleeves are accented with white and blue stripes. “PELE” is printed across the back shoulders in red lettering, while his iconic number “10” is printed below in blue digits. Two Umbro tags are located on the back inside collar. This historic jersey comes with a Letter of Provenance from its original recipient. The letter of provenance states that this jersey was obtained from a giveaway by the hosting Tampa Bay Rowdies. The jersey was presented to the attendee who purchased a match program with two green stars adhered over a photograph of Pele and a raised seal applied by the Rowdies marketing department. The original recipient of this jersey bought the winning program, which is included with this lot. The two green stars and raised seal are visible on page seven of this match program.
