‘Iron Mike’ Tyson was the youngest boxer in heavyweight boxing history to win the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles at just over 20 years of age. After winning his first 19 professional fights by knockout, 12 of them in the first round, Tyson captured the WBC title on November 22, 1986 by defeating Trevor Berbick via a 2nd round TKO. Following Tyson’s victory, Sports Illustrated placed Tyson on the cover of their December 1, 1986 issue with the title: “DYNAMITE! Mike Tyson: The KO Kid is a Champ at 20.” That issue, which captured Tyson’s knockout blow on the cover, is included here with a beautiful Tyson signature. The lot includes a COA from PSA/DNA (certification # U28050).
