After finishing his 22-year MLB career with the Seattle Mariners in 2010, Ken Griffey, Jr. is undoubtedly destined to be a first ballot Hall-of-Famer. Affectionately known as “The Kid,” Griffey was a 13-time All-Star and the quintessential 5-tool player. His 630 home runs rank as the sixth-most in MLB history. He was also an unbelievable fielder winning 10 Gold Glove Awards in center field.
This Rawlings professional model “Pro-TB” outfielder’s glove was used by Griffey during the 2001-2007 time period. This Trap-Eze web style glove is constructed of “Heart of the Hide” cowhide with grey welting highlighting the fingers in the palm of the glove and on the back. The glove also features a full enclosure “fast back” wrist strap with Rawlings “holdster” finger hole. The manufacturer’s tag is attached to the back of the wrist enclosure. The name ‘Ken Griffey Jr.’ is embroidered in white on the top of the thumb. Notably, the white embroidery is rarer than the more common gold embroidery in Griffey gloves. The glove is well broken in and all the foil stamping in the palm shows light to moderate wear. In addition, the glove displays light wear on the edge of the pinky, thumb and top of the index finger and has been authenticated by PSA/DNA.
