Atlanta Braves Hall of Famer John Smoltz wore this 1966 Braves throwback home jersey during Atlanta’s home opener against the Philadelphia Phillies on April 12th, 2006. This was the 40th anniversary of the Braves first home opener in Atlanta, a 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 12th, 1966 at Atlanta Stadium in 13 innings. The Braves were defeated 7-5 by the Philadelphia Phillies on April 12th, 2006, with Corey Lidle earning the win for Philadelphia and Jorge Sosa taking the loss for the Braves. Smoltz finished the 2006 season with 16 wins, the most in the National League, and a 3.49 ERA in 35 starts. Smoltz retired after the 2009 season, and in 2015 was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

This offered button-down TBTC home jersey has “Braves” and Smoltz’s number “29” sewn on the chest in red and navy tackle twill. A second “29” is sewn on the back of the jersey in red and navy tackle twill. A “Screaming Brave” patch is sewn on the left sleeve. An AIS size “50” tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. Smoltz has signed the chest of this jersey in blue marker. It comes with a PSA/DNA STICKER ONLY for Smoltz’s signature (Q20297) and a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (190115A7) for the game use.
