The Tigers started off 1984 by reeling off nine straight wins and didn’t let go of the AL East lead all summer. The memorable Detroit ball club was led by Lance “Big Wheel” Parrish who slugged 33 homers and Willie Hernandez who took home both the Cy Young Award and AL MVP Award. The Tigers then swept into the Series and whipped the Padres 4 games to 1.
The Louisville Slugger Commemorative bat has been signed in blue marker by 32 member of that championship team including Hall of Famers Sparky Anderson and Ernie Harwell. The key players are Alan Trammell, Willie Hernández, Jack Morris, Lance Parrish, Aurelio Lopez, Kirk Gibson and Darrell Evans. PSA/DNA numbered sticker T04701 is affixed to the knob end.
