The Hall of Fame second baseman Rod Carew wore this first baseman’s glove in the 1993 and 1994 seasons, when the 1977 American League MVP served as the hitting coach for the California Angels. Carew played the final seven years of his career, from 1979 to 1985, as a member of the Angels, making six All-Star Games in his seven seasons in Southern California. Carew’s number “29” was retired by the Angels in 1986 and by the Twins in 1987, and the 3,000 Hit Club member was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992.
This offered tan Wilson A2800 glove fits over Carew’s left hand and features a Single Post Triple T web. A Wilson tag is sewn on the back of the pinky finger slot, while a circular Wilson logo is sewn on the outside of the thumb slot. A Wilson A2800 brand is present on the palm and “The A8200” is branded on the outside of the glove. Carew’s number “29” is written in black marker above the Wilson strip tag. Carew has signed the same area in black marker. This glove comes with a LOA from JSA (Z67425) for Carew’s signature and a LOA from PSA/DNA for the glove’s use (1G00550).
