The New York Rangers Hall of Fame defenseman Harry Howell won his only Norris Trophy at the end of the 1966-67 NHL season. Howell, in his 15th NHL season, played in all 70 of the Rangers contests during the 1966-67 campaign, setting career-bests in goals (12) and points (40) for the playoff-bound Blueshirts. Howell was named to the first All-Star team of his career in 1966-67 and finished fifth in the Hart Trophy voting – the highest finish for a defenseman that season. Howell went on to play 17 seasons for the Rangers and a handful more in the NHL before spending the final three seasons of his career in the World Hockey Association. The Hamilton, Ontario, native was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979 and saw his number “3” retired by the Rangers in 2009.

This offered Norris Trophy measures approximately 13 inches tall and stands on an eight-sided wooden base. A placard affixed to the base is etched with “1966-67 / Won By / Harry Howell”. The upper portion of the trophy is a silver trophy cup with a detachable lid. The trophy cup is etched with “James Norris Memorial Trophy” and “Presented by the Norris Family / To The / National Hockey League / Awarded Annually to the Leagues / Greatest All-Round Defence Player / 1954”. This trophy is accompanied by a LOA signed by Harry Howell himself.
