George M. Steinbrenner is arguably the most well known sports owner of all time. Robert Stephen Simon is well known, too…to the art world. The artist owns a gallery in Fort Lauderdale, FL and according to his website “is an artist who depends on his technical skills, working as easily with still life’s, landscapes, anatomical subjects e.g. ballet or portraits from live settings.” Based upon the letter, Stephens sent Steinbrenner one of his art catalogs, which George thanked him for and acknowledged would be “taking the time to look it over.” This 8.5 x 11 inch letter is on New York Yankee letterhead, dated January 4, 2007, addressed to the artist and signed “George M. Steinbrenner III” in black marker. The letter is matted and framed to a dimension of 13 x 15.5 inches. The letter is accompanied by a full LOA from James Spence Authentication, certificate # X28358.
