While Yogi Berra will forever be identified with the New York Yankees, he also spent seven seasons coaching and four seasons managing the New York Mets. This Mets gray, button-down road jersey was worn by Yogi during his debut season with the Mets as manager in 1972.

This Wilson size 44 jersey has “NEW YORK” sewn across the chest in blue and orange tackle twill, along with his number “8” that is sewn on the left center chest. Blue piping runs along the collar and down both sides of the buttons. Berra’s number “8” is sewn on the back of the jersey in blue and orange tackle twill. There is an off-white inner lining around the collar and down the button front and a gray team strip tag on the inside back collar that reads “8 44 72”. The Wilson tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail and the Mets cityscape logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve. Berra signed his name in black marker below the “R” and “K” and between the “8” on the front of the jersey. This jersey shows moderate use with some staining. There is residue on the jersey on the front torso leftover when this jersey was previously displayed in a frame (please see images from the front of the jersey). This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema. There is also a LOA from JSA (Z64062) for Berra’s signature.
