It’s not easy to get your picture up there on Mount Rushmore, but Teddy Roosevelt accomplished that feat, as well as many other activities during his life. He became the nation’s 26th President and served at nearly every level of public office. He was known for his strong personality, manliness as an outdoorsman and general ability to get things done. As President, Roosevelt was also Commander in Chief, a role he was familiar as a former war hero. Roosevelt signed this approximately 15” x 19” Commission appointing Condie Winn as Assistant Surgeon in the U.S. Navy. The Commission, dated April 7, 1906, is signed in the lower right “Theodore Roosevelt” and is countersigned by “Charles J. Bonaparte” the Secretary to the Navy. A photo of Roosevelt and a plaque are included, all which is framed to a large 32 ½” x 28 ½” dimension. Roosevelt was one of the United States greatest men; a war hero, an avid adventurist and a popular no-nonsense President. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication Certificate #X82369.
