Thomas Edison was one of the greatest inventors ever, creating and commercializing the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and a long-lasting, practical electric light bulb. He also has hundreds of other patents for inventions in the mass communication business. In flowing script, Edison signed the bottom of this approximately 8 ½” x 11” typewritten letter “Thom. A Edison.” In the January 4, 1928 letter, Edison is informing a friend that he will be leaving for Florida soon. The letter is exceptional and has “From the Laboratory of Thomas A. Edison, Orange, NJ.” In addition, within this 35 ½” x 36” boxed frame are a photo of a young Edison and a plaque with a short biography. Thomas Edison was one of the nation’s greatest inventors, but also one of its greatest businessmen, taking his inventions to mass market for the benefit of all men.
