The Washington Senators claimed their first World Series title in franchise history with a seven-game defeat of the New York Giants in the 1924 Fall Classic. Offered here is a ticket from Game 1 of the 1924 World Series at Washington’s Griffith Stadium. Walter Johnson of the Senators and Art Nehf of the Giants each threw complete games in this 12-inning marathon of a series opener won by the Giants 4-3. Bill Terry and High Pockets Kelly both homered for the Giants, who broke the 12th inning deadlock on an RBI single from Ross Youngs and a sacrifice fly from Kelly. The Senators would have the last laugh in this series, winning Game 7 with their own 12 inning, 4-3 victory. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20810121).
