The 1934 World Series saw the “Gashouse Gang” St. Louis Cardinals match up against the Detroit Tigers in a classic World Series. The series went the distance to seven games, although the Cardinals left little doubt as to who was the better team once the dust settled on their 11-0 demolition of the Tigers in the deciding game. Dizzy Dean chucked a complete game shutout to earn his second win of the series and player-manager Frankie Frisch knocked in three runs with a bases-clearing double in the third inning.
