Offered is one of the scarcest Babe Ruth cards issued. The primary reason for its scarcity is that the Ruth card from this 60 card set was a redemption card. The reverse clearly states, “One ice cream novelty will be given free for each picture of Babe Ruth.” It was very common in the day for redemption cards to be returned severely damaged or even destroyed, so children would not be able to redeem the same card over and over. The entire set of 60 could also be redeemed for “one gallon of Harrington’s ice cream.” This card has multiple creases and staining front and back, but the image of Ruth is crystal clear. This is an unbelievable opportunity to own one of the very rare Babe Ruth cards, issued during the height of his illustrious career. PSA Graded PR 1.
