Former Detroit Tigers infielder Ian Kinsler used this Louisville Slugger G243 model bat for the last time during the April 17th, 2014 game at Comerica Park in Detroit when they hosted the Cleveland Indians. This bat, which displays outstanding game use, was cracked during the bottom of the eighth inning when Kinsler grounded out on a force out off Indians pitcher Scott Atchison. There is an approximately 1-inch piece of wood missing from the handle. There are ball marks and cleat imprints on the barrel and a light coating of pine tar on the lower barrel. The lower handle has been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip. The knob end has Kinsler’s number “3” handwritten in silver marker and the bat’s manufacture date “12/30/13” and length/weight “33.5/31.5” is stamped on the knob. This bat comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ194221), which authenticates that this bat was used by Kinsler and broken during the bottom of the eighth inning at-bat on April 17th, 2014.
