Daniel Webster was a leading American statesman and senator from Massachusetts during the period leading up to the Civil War, and he was appointed Secretary of State under two Presidents. Webster penned this short letter on July 21, 1843 completely in his own hand, signed “Daniel Webster.” The 5 ½” x 6” letter is accompanied by a similar sized photo of Webster and a plaque signifying his remarkable achievements, all framed to a dimension of approximately 23 x 24 inches.
