New York Mets pitcher Danny Frisella wore this gray Mets road jersey during the 1972 MLB season. Frisella appeared in 39 games for the Mets in 1972, finishing 31 with nine saves, five wins, and a 3.34 ERA. 1972 was Frisella’s final year with the Mets, leading to the Junipero Serra alum spending time with the Braves, Padres, Cardinals, and Brewers. Tragically, Frisella passed away on New Years Day, 1977 while still an MLB player in a dune buggy accident near his Phoenix home.

This button-down Mets road jersey has “NEW YORK” sewn across the chest in blue and orange tackle twill. Frisella’s number “34” is sewn on the chest and back of the jersey in blue and orange tackle twill. Please note that the “NEW YORK” on the chest has been restored and the Gil Hodges armband on the left sleeve removed, a common practice with 1972 Mets gamers. A circular Mets skyline logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve. A “34 46 72” swatch is sewn on the back inside collar while a Wilson size “46” tag is sewn on the front left tail. This jersey shows moderate wear and comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
