In 1978, Bear Bryant’s Alabama Crimson Tide went 11-1, claiming an SEC title and finishing the season with an emphatic 14-7 victory over Penn State in the Sugar Bowl. Alabama was named the AP Poll National Champion in Bryant’s 21st season as head coach. This offered football has been signed by more than 70 members of the 1978 Alabama Crimson Tide, including Bryant, the College Football Hall of Famer Marty Lyons, and the Pro Football Hall of Famer Ozzie Newsome.
