Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was one of the most influential authors of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Although most famous for his tales of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes, Doyle was a prolific writer across numerous genres, including science fiction and historical fiction. Offered here is a handwritten letter from the famous scribe, dated to March 29th, 1910. He has written “Sir Arthur Conan Doyle regrets that he is unable to accept the invitation of the Lord Mayor [and] Lady Mayoress to the Festival Dinner on April 13th” and “29 March 1910”. Printed on the top of this letter are “Telegrams: Crowborough Nat. Tel. No 77” and “Windlesham, Crowborough, Sussex.” This letter is written in black pen and encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (83850336).
