Willie Mays is often called the “Best 5 Tool Player of all time”. What does that mean? Let’s put it this way: 2 NL MVP Awards, 24 All-Star Game appearances (twice the game’s MVP), 4th in career home runs with 660 and 12 Gold Glove Awards (he would have won more but they didn’t begin to hand them out until 6 years after he started playing). He was the NL Rookie of the Year in 1951 and is one of only 16 players in history to hit four home runs in one game. In what must have been one of the only no-brainer elections in Hall of Fame history, Mays got his Cooperstown plaque the first year of eligibility. There really isn’t many things in the baseball memorabilia world as coveted as a Willie Mays autograph and here we offer the signature of that baseball icon on another baseball icon, a Louisville Slugger S2 Willie Mays model bat. It is unused and the Hall of Famer has signed the barrel above his stamped endorsement in black ink. Mays has dated the signature “2000”. PSA/DNA numbered sticker S73559 is affixed to the knob end.
