Forrest Harrill “Smoky” Burgess was one of the best pinch hitters in baseball history, and when he retired, Smoky held the MLB record for most pinch hits with 145. But did you know Burgess was also a 10-time All Star? This is Smoky’s first issued baseball card, his Bowman rookie. And this example is in pristine condition with grandiose centering, color, focus and four razor sharp corners. The reverse has an exceptionally dark factory strike of bold navy blue and radiant red. While the PSA pop report states there are six MINT 9s in existence, it is hard to image a better example than this one. Graded by PSA MINT 9.
