Two seasons before Dick Groat would win the 1960 N.L. MVP in leading his Pittsburgh Pirates to a World Series title, he appeared on this colorful 1958 Topps card. This issue is notorious for bad paper quality, severe off centering and print defects. This example has nary a blemish as it displays four razor corners, great centering and bold (Pirate) yellow background. As one of nine graded at the MINT 9 level, this card has the added distinction of belonging to the slightly more difficult first series of cards. Graded by PSA MINT 9.
