Made from stainless steel, the 1972 participation medal was a very simple design from Fritz Koenig. The obverse shows the Munich Olympic emblem over 2 lines of text. The reverse shows the Olympic rings over 2 stylized hands, one holding an Olive branch. The medal is housed in the original lucite case.
