During the 2011 season, David Ortiz became the career leader for RBI by a designated hitter when he passed Edgar Martinez mark of 1,003. This milestone, coupled with his hitting his 300th homer as a Red Sox, made him the most successful DH since the position was created in 1973. The Marucci DO34 model bat shows outstanding use and is un-cracked. The barrel has many ball marks with white leather ball scuffs and ink transfers. There are cleat imprints present and a heavy coat of pine tar is applied to the handle, the lower portion having been taped to enhance the grip. Ortiz’s number “34” is stamped into the knob end. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17165) for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10.
