This Lot of three game-used bats includes Nick Swisher’s 33.5-inch, 30.5 ounce maple Louisville Slugger M9 model S318 professional model bat. Swish signed the barrel in the sweet spot using vivid black Sharpie (grade 7) and inscribed it “Game used.” The barrel is engraved with “GENUINE S318/NICK SWISHER/NEW YORK YANKEES.” The barrel is hollowed out. The knob is engraved with the bat’s weight, length and production date (“01/9/2009”). The Louisville Slugger 125th Anniversary logo is engraved in the sweet spot. On the barrel’s back are engraved logos of TPX and MLB. Heavy evidence of game use (GU 10) includes many ball marks and stitch impressions on the right, left and back barrel. These marks include blue ink transfers. Cleat impressions are visible on the right and back barrel. Green and blue bat rack streaks are visible on all sides of the barrel. Tape encircles in the handle in a spiral pattern for up to approximately seven inches. A light coat of Mota stick is found on the lower handle and a heavy coat of pine tar is found on the center label. Ransom’s 34-inch, 31.5-ounce black Louisville Slugger is engraved in silver on the barrel with “GENUINE C271L/CODY RANSOM/NEW YORK YANKEES.” On the barrel’s back are engraved logos of TPX and MLB. Besides being cracked on the handle, evidence of game use includes ball marks on all slopes of the barrel, cleat impressions on the back side of the barrel bat rack streaks up the barrel, streaks of Mota stick around the label, and heavy pine tar around the knob and handle. The knob is silver engraved with weight and production date (“2/9/2009”). A COA from Steiner-Yankees Collectibles accompanies this bat (#85267). Hairston’s 34-inch black-and-white Marucci “bone-rubbed” CC8-M Pro Model bat is engraved in white on the barrel with “Handcrafted for/ Jerry Hairston, Jr. /CC8-M Pro Model.” The barrel tip is recessed. The knob is engraved with “17,” “4,” and “11.” Besides being cracked from handle to barrel, evidence of game use includes numerous bat rack streaks and gouges on all slopes of the barrel, stains of Mota stick on the front barrel, heavy pine-tar buildup extending the length of the handle, and a thick cushion of black tape wrapping the handle.
