Manufactured by the American Baseball Cap Company, this New York Mets flapless batting helmet was issued during the 1985-89 era. Due to the lack of pinwheel dating code, it was most likely manufactured closer to the 1985 date. Helmet size 7 1/4. Leather headband fully intact. Helmet exhibits heavy game wear on both interior and exterior. Pine tar is evenly applied in various spots on the top and brim of the helmet. "Carter" appears in team applied dyno tape on both the brim and back of the helmet. Signed on the brim in silver, however the signature is faded. No cracks. Mears LOA. Signature is authentic but was too light for PSA to issue cert.
