Under head coach Jim Mora, the Philadelphia Stars dominated the USFL in 1984 finishing the regular season with a record of 16-2. The Stars outscored their opponents by an incredible 479-225 margin. QB Chuck Fusina threw for 3,837 yards and 31 touchdowns, against just nine interceptions. Running back Kelvin Bryant rushed for 1,406 yards and 13 touchdowns while receiver Scott Fitzkee caught 55 passes good for 895 yards and nine TDs. In the postseason, the Stars first defeated the New Jersey Generals (who handed the Stars their only two losses) in the quarterfinals, before beating the Birmingham Stallions in the semifinals. Philadelphia won the league championship with a 23-3 victory over the Arizona Wranglers.
