Offered is an 11-inch circular bronze plate honoring singer and recording artist Julio Iglesias, that has been attributed to the 1999 renovation of New York’s Radio City Music Hall. The bronze plate has a black five-point star set in the top with a reproduction of Iglesias’s signature engraved in gold. At the bottom of the star is engraved “Julio Iglesias” in black block letters. The plate is 1¼-inch high, with two screw holes in the top, and an unfinished bronze underside.
The entrance to the Radio City Music Hall is at its southwestern corner, where there are adjacent ticket and advance sales lobbies. Both lobbies contain terrazzo floors and marble walls. This bronze star plate was used in the ticket sales lobbies, honoring Iglesias as one of the memorable performers on the Radio City stage during the 1990s. Iglesias, originally from Spain, is recognized as the most commercially successful Continental European singer in the world and one of the top 10 record sellers in music history, having sold more than 300 million records worldwide in 14 languages.
