Joe DiMaggio’s 56-game hit streak in 1941 may never be surpassed. In 1978 Pete Rose came closest, hitting safely in 44 straight games for the Cincinnati Reds. This item pays tribute to the two longest hit streaks in each league. DiMaggio has signed his posed photograph in bold blue Sharpie and Rose has signed his game-action photograph across the bottom in bold, blue Sharpie. Each photograph measures 3.25” x 4.5” and lay in a white-matted cherrywood 11” x 13” frame. A bronze plaque below the two images has been inscribed with “All Time Hit Streaks/ Joe DiMaggio/ A.L. 1941 - Hit safely in 56 consecutive games Pete Rose/ N.L. 1978 – Hit safely in 44 consecutive games.” An LOA from James Spence Authentication (#B133016) accompanies this item.
