Jose Nasazzi captained Uruguay to victory at the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930. The solid center back, nicknamed “The Grand Marshal”, helped La Celeste turn around a 2-1 halftime deficit in the final match against Argentina to win 4-2 at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo. In all, Nasazzi was capped 41 times by Uruguay, winning gold medals in the 1924 and 1928 Summer Olympics in addition to his World Cup triumph. Offered here is an offset printing tin plate of Nasazzi receiving a Uruguayan flag from two women in front of a stand of fans. This tin plate measures 10.5 x 8 inches and originates from the Mundo Uruguayo archives. This item comes with a LOA confirming it is part of the Rony Almeida Soccer Collection.
