Offered in this lot are two pieces of printed sheet music relating to the 1930 World Cup and the Uruguayan national soccer team. The first piece of music is titled La Torre De Los Homenajes, and it congratulates La Celeste on their success during the 1924 and 1928 Olympic Games. The lyrics to the march were written by Raul de Castro, while Americo V. Lanzilotta contributed the music. The front cover to this sheet music shows the famous Tower of Homage looming over Estadio Centenario. The second piece of sheet music in this lot, El Once Glorioso Tango, commemorates the three world championships won by Uruguay in the 1920’s and 1930’s. This sheet music features lyrics by Luis Cezar and music from Carlos Enrique. Printed on the back of El Glorioso Tango is the Himno Olimpico. These two pieces of sheet music are fascinating relics from the inaugural FIFA World Cup. These items come with a LOA confirming they are part of the Rony Almeida Soccer Collection.
