The New York Yankees won their third of five consecutive World Series titles in 1951, defeating the New York Giants in a six-game Fall Classic. These six games were Joe DiMaggio’s last as a Yankee, with the future Hall of Famer contributing a homer and five RBI as he won his ninth World Series title. Mickey Mantle, then an up-and-coming rookie, won his first World Series title and Yogi Berra notched his fourth of ten career World Series victories. Eddie Lopat starred on the mound for the Yankees, winning two games while maintaining a miniscule 0.50 ERA. Offered in this lot is a stunning black bat bearing the facsimile signatures of the 1951 New York Yankees. Casey Stengel’s signature is the largest, and “New York Yankees / 1951 / World Champions” is etched on the barrel in gold. This Hillerich & Bradsby black bat is in excellent condition.
