Coming off the epic seven-game World Series victory of the Boston Red Sox, the St. Louis Cardinals picked right up where they left off in 1968 as they stormed through the National League with a 97-65 record and a World Series matchup with the Detroit Tigers. Unlike the previous World Series, the Cardinals lost a seven-game series with Detroit and the 1968 team was the last Cardinal team to reach the post-season until the red-birds won the World Series in 1982.

Offered is this Official National League Warren Giles stamped baseball that has been signed by 22 members of the 1968 National League champion St. Louis Cardinals in blue pen. Hall of Famers Red Schoendienst and Orlando Cepeda have signed their names on the sweet spot. Other signatures include Hall of Famers Steve Carlton, Lou Brock and Bob Gibson; Roger Maris, Ray Washburn, Dal Maxvill, Ron Davis, Billy Muffett, Ed Speizio, Dick Hughes, Dick Sisler, Tim McCarver, Dick Schofield, Wayne Granger, Phil Gagliano, Curt Flood, Mel Nelson, Bob Tolan and others. This baseball comes with a LOA from JSA (Y21096).
