Drawing inspiration from the Sister Sledge song “We Are Family”, the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates won the National League by winning the East Division with a 98-64 record and sweeping the Cincinnati Reds in the NLCS. After falling behind 3-1 in the World Series to the Baltimore Orioles, Hall of Famer Willie Stargell led the comeback as the Pirates defeated the Orioles in seven games. Stargell became the oldest player (age 39) to win a World Series MVP.

Offered here is an Official Ball 1976 World Series Bowie K. Kuhn stamped baseball signed by 16 members of the 1979 World Series champion Pittsburgh Pirates. Manager Chuck Tanner signed his name on the sweet spot. Other signatures include Hall of Famer Willie Stargell, Don Robinson, Phil Garner, Steve Nicosia, Bob Skinner, Harvey Haddix, Bill Robinson, Al Monchak, Rennie Stennett, Dave Roberts, Lee Lacy and others. This item comes with a LOA from JSA.
