Legendary center back Jose Nasazzi was awarded this quadruple world championship pin by the Uruguayan Football Association after Uruguay’s second World Cup title in 1950. Nasazzi captained Uruguay during La Celeste’s Olympic triumphs in 1924 and 1928, as well as their win in Montevideo in the inaugural 1930 FIFA World Cup. In addition to his successes on the world stage, Nasazzi led Uruguay to four of their record 15 South American championships.
This offered pin is gold and enamel, with text that reads “AUF 24 28 30 50 Campeones Olimpicos Mundiales” on the front. The reverse side of the pin is etched with “J. Nasazzi Campeon”. This pin is a tremendous display piece from the career of a FIFA World Cup-winning captain. This item comes with a LOA confirming it is part of the Rony Almeida Soccer Collection.
